Working With Communities

Programmes created with communities, not simply delivered to them.

We want schools, colleges, universities, youth groups, volunteers and community organisations to help shape relevant, inclusive and culturally grounded activity across the United Kingdom.

01

Why it matters

Cultural learning can strengthen identity, curiosity and belonging while giving institutions practical ways to engage with the communities they serve.

02

Who benefits

Pupils, students, educators, youth groups, volunteers, families and community partners seeking relevant learning and participation opportunities.

03

How to get involved

Co-design a workshop, host activity, offer placements, refer young people, provide volunteer pathways or explore a research and knowledge-exchange collaboration.

04

Why support it

Support enables accessible delivery, safeguarding, facilitator capacity, learning resources, participant support and evaluation rather than one-off activity without follow-through.

Year-round delivery

Education and engagement built through collaboration.

Our approach is partnership-led. Activities will be developed according to community need, educational relevance, safeguarding requirements, available resources and the experience of participating organisations.

School partnerships

Age-appropriate cultural learning, creative workshops and opportunities to explore identity, heritage and community.

College partnerships

Project-based learning, volunteering, creative participation and routes into community event experience.

University collaborations

Research, placements, student volunteering, cultural programming and knowledge exchange opportunities.

Volunteer opportunities

Supported roles across outreach, administration, communications, programme delivery and future events.

Community workshops

Participatory sessions around Dominican history, music, dance, storytelling, costume, food and creative expression.

Cultural education

Resources and programmes that deepen understanding of Dominican heritage and its place within modern Britain.

Youth ambassadors

A developing initiative for young people to contribute ideas, represent their peers and build leadership skills.

Organisational assurance

A credible organisation being built for responsible public benefit.

Dominican Parade UK CIC is a registered UK Community Interest Company, Company No. 16778217. Its programmes and proposed Summer 2027 parade are currently in development and will progress in line with funding, capacity, safeguarding, partnership agreements and required approvals.

Public benefit

Cultural, educational and community outcomes sit at the centre of programme design.

Responsible delivery

Activity will be scoped against resources, risk, safeguarding and operational readiness.

Evidence and learning

Participation, outputs and outcomes will be monitored as delivery begins.

Transparent partnerships

Roles, expectations, recognition and intended outcomes will be agreed clearly.
